Class Descriptions & Bodywork

team

Gentle Yoga - Blending two styles of yoga into one practice to help bring balance to the body, mind, and spirit. By combining Gentle Flow (Yang), and Yin Yoga, students will enhance awareness, strength, and flexibility while cultivating inner peace.                                                                    You will begin by starting to work with the body in a slower paced, gentle, and flowing sequence of standing postures to help stretch and strengthen the muscles.                                                                                                            In the second half of class, you will dive deeper into the mind and spirit by moving to the floor for yin yoga poses.

Yin Yoga - Slow down and unwind while diving deeper into the body/mind connection by moving through floor poses, and holding for a longer duration (3-5 minutes) to work with the connective tissue of the body and allowing the muscles to completely rest. This works deeply into the joints, ligaments, tendons, fascia, and bone, with the aim to alleviate stress, unravel muscular tension, and restore energy levels by improving flexibility and range of motion.

Signature Candlelight Restorative Yoga - A restful and receptive practice that is all about slowing down and allowing your body, mind, and spirit to enter into a place of total relaxation, release, and healing. Working deeply into the body, and through a series of 5-7 poses, you’ll use props, gravity, breath, and longer holds in the poses to relieve and undo patterns of tension and stress, improve mobility/flexibility, reduce chronic pain, calm your nervous system, improve sleep quality, transition to meditation, and more...optional bodywork and aromatherapy offered throughout class.

Slow Flow - Perfect for beginners to advanced, you will take 3-5 breaths in each pose, to allow for more awareness and a deepening of each pose. Calmer, more restful, and meditative than a flow class, but a step up from our gentle yoga class with less floor poses. Builds strength, flexibility, balance and peace of mind.

Yoga Nidra - Literally meaning "yogic sleep", this is an ancient and systematic practice where, being led by her voice, you will enter into the deepest state of relaxation possible, all while remaining conscious. Into a state of harmonious, restful being. To a place at a loss of all concepts: of time, space, and reason...a place of healing. This is not meditation or hypnosis and is used by the US Army to help soldiers suffering from PTSD. Yoga nidra can be beneficial to those wanting to deeply relax, suffering from stress, trauma, burnout, and/or anxiety. Practicing yoga nidra for one hour can be equivalent to four hours of sleep.

Meditation - Learn to simply "be", the act of being fully present in the here and now; the art of observing without feeling a need to intervene. As there isn't just one way to meditate, different techniques are used to bring your mind closer to its natural state of conscious awareness using relaxation techniques, concentration and mindfulness. The goal of meditation is to help us undergo a transformation of our conditioned habits. It is a state of mind and being.

Private/Semi-Private Yoga Session  - Enjoy a private session of yoga, guided meditation, yoga nidra, breathwork, sound therapy, or any combination of these. Perfect for those new to yoga or those wanting to further and deepen their practice. Meeting you where you are at in your practice, you may choose the focus of any or all: enhance awareness, relaxation, balance, strength, flexibility, and/or facilitating self-healing. This is also for students wanting  to do Restorative Yoga with the option of not receiving bodywork. For those wanting Restorative Yoga w/bodywork, please see below.

Yoga + Bodywork

Private Signature Candlelight Restorative Yoga Session - Enjoy all the bliss this class has to offer, all by yourself or with a few friends! Please see description of this class above.

~Bodywork~

Signature Healing Session - Using her intuition to guide  her, and combining the elements of any or all of the different healing modalities she uses, she will give you an individualized healing session you will not soon forget!

Wholistic Manual Medicine - A deeply relaxing experience where the practitioner uses the hands to evaluate the person as a whole, then facilitate a release of tension due to tightness or hardening of the tissues, creating a beneficial change to interdependence of structure and function. Your body will begin to relax and flow as it was meant to, allowing  your body's innate self-healing to release pain, tension, and stress. Based on the observation of nature and her workings. Trained and certified by Dr. Keith Barbour, DO in Monroe.

Reiki - A Japanese energy healing modality that uses "universal life force energy" to reduce stress and anxiety, and promote relaxation. Through gentle touch, reiki helps to release blocked energy and unlock the body's healing potential, restoring vitality, balance, and harmony.

Thai Yoga Massage - Combining yoga floor postures and gentle touch/pressure along the body's pressure points and Sen "energy" lines to release muscular tension, gain better mobility/functionality/flexibility, relieve pain, improve circulation and lymphatic flow, increase energy levels, and induce deep relaxation.

Reflexology - By applying appropriate amounts of pressure to certain points on the feet, hands, and ears, this healing modality can bring about enhanced overall wellbeing. These points on the body are connected to other various parts of the body and organs, and can bring rejuvenation and renewal to the body as a whole. Can be used to target a certain area/areas as well.

Sound Therapy - The ancient sound therapy of the gong is the only tool known to man to take the human body from the awake state (beta) to the dream state (theta - and the place of healing) in as little as one second. When played in a therapeutic way, the body is immersed in the powerful, healing frequencies, waves and vibrations of the gong's sacred sounds. Additional sound healing instruments may be used, such as Tibetan singing bowls, chakra koshi chime, and medicine drum.

Chakra Balancing - A deeply relaxing experience aligning and balancing the chakras (subtle energy centers/spinning wheels) of your body, to clear any blockages from the subtle energy/energetic body, and promoting a free flow of energy and sense of wellbeing, making space for healing and health.
